Miles lives south of Sydney by the beach. My passions, work and other interests include (in no particular order) making stuff work, making stuff fly, surfing, kitesurfing, tinkering with technology, industrial design, design research and my family. This site offers me a way to organise some things in my life that matter and avoid the noise of the usual social media platforms – but I do occasionally tweet and instagram stuff.
My primary and current role is as Senior lecturer of Industrial Design at UNSW, whilst also maintaining a design practice – MPiD. I coordinate the final year design research studio and contribute to various specialist courses and postgraduate research supervision.
Professional contributions include co-editor of the IDEN journal and to various academic and industry advisory committees.
